Welcome to my Xandria talk!

Hello my loves,

In this post I want to talk about something that has been bothering me and other people as well. This community knows how to talk with each other; even if it's not always positive. I realize that there is a lot of crap that goes around in this community and I am here to address some of it. This community is supportive as hell, but as I am sure you have seen, it can be REALLY fake.

I want to talk about bloggers. As bloggers we want to support one another, we want to know what others think of books, acknowledge the beauty of their photos, and create new friendships. You know what bloggers don't want?

-The anger consuming "follow for follow"

-The fake followers game that people do

-Posting negative comments on other bloggers photos/ showing hate

Now, I want to address the "follow for follow" thing first, why, WHY, can't we just follow another persons blog because we like it? I follow other bloggers because I love their content, not because I expect them to follow me back. They can follow whom ever they want on their account.

Secondly, the fake followers game. Some people think it's not obvious when they have a lot of followers, but when you have 5000+ followers and only 5-20 people engaging, it's really strange dont you think? It genuinely hurts seeing this because publishers and authors send books to these people, even if their followers aren't real. They assume they are and expect to see their novel get some engagement. It just breaks my heart for the accounts that are trying.

Lastly, the negativity and drama that can be found on Instagram. Ive talked with some people about how other accounts will start to comment hateful things on another persons photo. This is NOT okay in any way, if you dont like something simply ignore it; it's that easy. Commenting on their stuff and being hateful? Not okay. Ive noticed this has become a habit on accounts that do edits. If someone posts similar edits people get angry, but I think we need to open our eyes a little bit. If you're making edits for a novel, aren't there going to be similarities? You're reading the same novel, so obviously this may happen. Obviously if someone has literally copied your edit, then say something. At that point you're stealing someones work, which again NOT okay. Just do it in a kind way, don't attack someone. When I started my instagram, I had someone re-posting my photos and all I did was ask the person to give me credit, which she did!

Thanks for listening to my Xandria talk guys! I really appreciate it! But seriously, I believe this community of people are meant to do great things; just not those three mentioned above.

Love you all,

Xandria
